Meet Dr. Jennifer Jones
Dr. Jennifer Jones was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina. She graduated from The University of South Carolina in
2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Jones attended dental school at The Medical
University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC where she received several awards, including the William (Ben) Irby Award for Excellence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as the Academy of Osseointegration Implant Dentistry Award. While in dental school, Dr. Jones participated in many dental outreach opportunities. She volunteered locally in her community, and also traveled to Ecuador, Haiti, Honduras, and Burundi, where she was able to show her compassion, respect and understanding of dental needs throughout the world.
Upon receiving her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from The Medical University of South Carolina in 2012, Dr. Jones decided to pursue postgraduate training in New York. She completed a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, where she discovered a passion for oral surgery. She was then accepted into a one year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi Medical Center. She completed her four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in 2018. During her training in New York, Dr. Jones cared for a diverse patient population and became skilled in the areas of orofacial trauma, the management of benign oral pathology, correction of dentofacial deformities, general anesthesia and IV sedation, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, and other various dentoalveolar procedures.
Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and their two dogs. She also enjoys reading, yoga, traveling, watching Jeopardy, and is a big LA Lakers fan.
Dr. Jones maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental
Society, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, California Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and also maintains certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS.
